Frequently asked questions

When is the best time to visit?

July to September is snow and ski season on Cerro Catedral. December to March brings long days for boat trips, hiking and kayaking. Autumn, in April and May, turns the forests red and gold.

What documents do I need?

Most visitors need a valid passport. Check the entry rules for your nationality, and bring the same document on the Andean Lakes Crossing, which enters Chile.

Do I need special clothing?

The weather changes fast: bring warm layers and a windbreaker even in summer, especially on boat trips. In winter you can rent snow gear in town.

Which currency do I pay in?

You can view prices here in pesos, reais or dollars as a reference. Payment is taken by each tour's partner, in the currency shown at checkout, by credit or debit card.
